Raising money for a great cause

On Sunday 10th September, three of the Five Star Furnishing Care Team will be taking part in the Great North Run, the worlds largest half marathon, to raise money for Breast Cancer Care in memory of a friend who lost her battle with this disease earlier this year.

Marie & Hayden will be running their first half marathon while Dean will taking part in his second Great North Run, 13.1 miles from Newcastle Upon Tyne to the coast of South Shields and it’s live on BBC TV – you never know, you may catch a glimpse of us amongst the other 57,000 runners.

Since we first told everyone about Marie & Hayden taking part in the Great North Run and running their first half Marathon, we have received some fantastic donations, we can’t thank you enough, but we still need more to get to our target for Breast Cancer Care.

Your kind donations will make a real difference to people facing breast cancer

  • £2 provides a suitable headscarf for a woman who has lost her hair during treatment.
  • £5 provides a comprehensive information pack for someone newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • £10 teaches someone how to be breast aware for life at a local workshop – knowing the signs of breast cancer can save lives.
  • £25 pays for a call to the confidential Helpline so people with questions or concerns about breast cancer can get support from Breast Cancer Care’s expert team.

The run takes place on September 10th starting in Newcastle Upon Tyne and finishing on the south Shields coast, check it out on BBC TV – you may catch a glimpse of Dean, he has promised to be wearing all pink for the day – from head to toe……

Please help us raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause, all donation will be gratefully appreciated no matter how big or small.
