Keeping your carpets clean and healthy

How To Keep Your Carpets Clean And Healthy

Your carpets play a big role in the overall look of your home. Probably more so than you think.

No matter how well you dust and declutter, if the carpet isn’t looking its best then neither will the rest of your home.

You may not even notice how dull and dirty your carpets have gotten but we think you’ll be surprised how clean and bright your home will look once you’ve got the carpets looking like new again.

Here’s our top cleaning tips:

You can’t prevent everything grubby from touching your carpets (especially if you have children or pets) but do as much as you can to stop dirt from getting out of hand. Banish shoes from indoors or, at the very least, provide decent mats by the door for thorough shoe wiping.

Vacuum regularly

It might seem like a hassle but vacuuming regularly can save you money by preserving the quality of your carpet and making it last longer.  Vacuuming is also beneficial for your health, particularly if you suffer with allergies or asthma.

Use stain protection

No protector will make fabric or fibres 100% stain proof, but a good quality protector will give the maximum possible protection against stains. The protector coats the fibres, it does not stop them from getting dirty, but it will stop the dirt sticking to them, making it easier to vacuum off.

Professional cleaning

To bring old and dirty carpets back from the brink, consider having them deep cleaned by a professional company. Not only will it improve the look, it’ll also improve the health of the carpet. It’s recommended to have your carpets professionally cleaned every 12-18 months depending on your circumstances.
